The Story
Lexa Hair Salon is a hidden little gem of a salon in West Yorkshire, UK. Now in our Eigth year of business, we are no strangers to diversification. Since Lexa Hair was born in 2017. The business was started by one hair obsessed Stylist who slowly built the brand you see today.
This website is not about publicising the Salon itself, but an opportunity for clientele and friends of the salon to achieve their hair goals at home with tried and trusted products and techniques that are proven theories.
After 27 years of industry experience, Lexa Hair's director Alexandra Leathley has grown the business from a chair in someone else's salon to our own premises and a team of self employed Stylists (and our god send of an assistant!).
Alex has taught hairdressing internationally as part of an artistic team and relocated to Yorkshire after nearly a decade in London.
The S.O.S Theory, Alex's debut industry book was written and launched in 2016. Following that Alex launched the Informed Client, a guide to the hairdressing industry, designed to help clientele maximise their salon experience. These two books were noticed by International trade press Hairdressers Journal and the National Hairdressers Federation. This led to Alex being asked to be a key note speaker on the business stand for Hair Pro live, London in 2017. This was followed by more education on a consultancy basis, having converted The S.O.S Theory into a workshop and working across the UK with other Salons to educate about The S.O.S Theory's core fundamental principles, three words Lexa Hair revolves around:
Pride, Discipline and Excellence.
Lexa Hair Salon launched in 2018, and then with that came the launch of the Lexa Hair pop up style bar also in 2018. This concept was met with unexpected success for a pilot project, but unfortunately covid meant this business model was not sustainable. It does, however, remain a proud moment for Lexa Hair.
Amongst it all, there was one concept stuck in Alex's brain that was not going to go away. In 2017 a complete accident spawned from her cats ruining her beloved silk headscarf led to a nine year project that is due to launch in 2026, at long last. The Silk Styling Brush is a revolutionary piece of hairdressing kit that makes significant changes to the hair's condition and longevity of the style.
